Peacefully passed away at his home in Albany, Georgia on February 9, 2014,
After an extended illness. Woody was born and grew up in Baker County, GA until attending the University of Georgia and afterwards moving to Arlington, GA, where he went to work with his Father, Herbert Woodard. In later years he moved to Sanford, Florida where he resided until 1906 and where he met his present wife, Peggy Bogdone.

Woody was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Herbert Woodard of Norcross, GA and is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Peggy, three Children from a previous marriage, Telisa, Walter (Bubba) and Jerry, Six Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by two Sisters, Regina Hughes of Norcross, GA and Athelia Jordan of Alexandria, VA.

Woody was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Albany, GA. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Patmos Freewill Baptist Church in Leary, GA.

Woody's Sisters, Regina and Athelia, want to express their love and appreciation to Woody's wife, Peggy, who was his constant companion and served him with incredible love, devotion and care through his lengthy illness. Without her, his journey through these last six years would have been much more difficult. Woody's family will be eternally grateful to her.
