Wilson D. Douglas, Sr.

Col. Wilson D. Douglas, Sr., USAF (ret.), 93, of Albany, died Sunday at Taylor County Health and Rehab. 

His funeral service will be at 11 AM, Wednesday, August 23, at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Tom Pollock and Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.  Interment will be Thursday 10 AM (CST) in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Panama City, FL.

A native of Charleston, SC, born to Sylvester and Gertina Douglas, Colonel Douglas moved to Albany in 2008 from Panama City, FL where he had lived since 1974.  Colonel Wilson Douglas was a civil engineer and retired from the U. S. Air Force.  He attended Callaway Assembly of God church in Panama City.

He was preceded in death by his wife Charlce Ellis Douglas, a daughter Jeanie D. Hanner, and six brothers.

Survivors include his son, Wilson “Bill” Douglas, Jr. (Cheryl), of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Douglas of Winchester, VA, Cara D. Watson of Clayton, NC, Chad Hanner of Atlanta, GA, and Chase Hanner of Moreland, GA; and ten great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
