Willie Barfield

Willie Barfield, 91, of Albany, GA, died June 23, 2018 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Mark Hughes will officiate.  Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Lee County, GA, Mr. Barfield was born to the late Willie and Alma Hayes Barfield.  After his schooling, he joined the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.  Mr. Barfield was retired from Barfield Pest Control and was a Baptist by faith.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #30 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2785.  Mr. Barfield was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Barfield, a daughter, Marie Fudge and a grandson, Chad Sirmons.

Survivors include his children, Linda Barfield Freeman, Larry (Sue) Barfield, Doris Sirmons and Debra Crowder all of Albany, GA, Gene (Pam) Barfield Lee County, GA and Ricky (Burma) Barfield of San Antonio, TX , a sister, Lula (J.L.) Holt of Lee County, GA, a brother, Jack Veasey of Albany, GA,  his grandchildren, Ricky (Dawn) Barfield, Jr., Paul Barfield, Levon Fudge, Chris Fudge, Rusty (Tina)Taunton, Gene (Amanda) Barfield Jr., Shawn Freeman, Heather (Joey) LeBlanc,  Misty (Clay) Dent, Brian (Hope) Freeman, Jeff Crowder, Jr. and Haley (Johnny)White and eighteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Mathews Funeral Home from Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM
