William Ronald Wingate, 73, of Leesburg, GA died Monday, March 27, 2017 at Willson Hospice House in Albany, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Leesburg First Baptist Church. Rev. Bobby Harrell and Dr. Todd Sullens will officiate. Interment will follow in the Leesburg Cemetery.
Born in Sales City, GA, Mr. Wingate had resided in Leesburg, GA for the past thirty-eight years. He was a retired truck driver having been employed with GA Highway Express which later became Transus Truck Lines and retiring with Wal-Mart. He loved his family, friends, and enjoyed watching baseball, football and Nascar. He was a member of the Leesburg First Baptist Church. Mr. Wingate was preceded in death by his parents, C. T. Wingate and Ethel Belle Lemmacks Wingate and a grandson, Cole Tanner Lentz.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris Wiggins Wingate, Leesburg, GA, two daughters, Melanie Lynn Wingate Lentz (Kyle), Lee Co., GA, Rhonda Denise Wingate Sellars (Michael), Valdosta, GA, two brothers, Cecil Thomas Wingate (Thelma), Pebble City, GA, Wesley Tyrone Wingate (Judy), Lee Co., GA, a sister, Linda Wingate Pollock (Sam), Pelham, GA, five grandchildren, Blake Potts (Allison), Raegan Lentz, Gage Potts, Jessica Sellars, Rae Sellars and a great-grandchild, Brooklyn Potts.
