William Curtis Willingham, 89, of Albany, GA died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Rowe will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Mitchell Co., GA.
Born in Mitchell Co., GA, Mr. Willingham had resided in Albany, GA since 1951. He had farmed in his earlier years and retired as a machinist having worked with Albany Welding. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mattie Williams Willingham, his wife, Marie Louise Everson Willingham, a daughter, Brenda Faye Flournoy, two brothers, J.D. Willingham, Julius Willingham, six sisters, Adel Fowler, Florence Carnes, Gladys Speer, Jewell Chastain, Ruby Kilgore and Lois Willingham.
Survivors include his son, Russell Willingham, Albany, GA, three grandchildren, Nicole Willingham, Albany, GA, Scott Willingham and Renea Flournoy both of Sylvester, GA, and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
