William Hillman Williams, Sr

William Hillman Williams, Sr., 83, of Lawrenceville, GA, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Hope Memory Care in Dacula, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, 2700 Westgate Dr., Albany, GA. Ritchey Marbury and Steve Hall will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Lanette, AL, to the late Amie Thomas Williams, Sr. and Mattie Evelyn Cochran Williams. He served in the Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He lived in Albany, GA from 1955 until 1982 where he worked as an accountant for Watkins Lumber Company, Home Federal Savings and Loan and Georgia Federal Savings and Loan. In 1982, he was transferred to Lawrenceville, GA where he worked for Wachovia Bank and the Gwinnett County School System until his retirement in 1997.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as a missionary with the church in 2009 and 2010. He loved his family and loved attending all of his children and grandchildren's activities and honor programs and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, Arva Joy Ward Williams, Lawrenceville, GA, three sons, William (Bill) Williams (Sharron), Albany, GA, Jerry Williams (Wendy), Tarzana, CA, Dave Williams (Eve), Cave Springs, GA, a daughter, Gail Iverson (Dan), Brasselton, GA, two sisters, Jean Johnson, Lake Park, GA, Sarah Freeman, Wiggins, MS,, eight grandchildren, Daneka Iverson, Morgan Iverson, Madison Iverson, Lauren Williams, Michaela Williams, Matt Williams, Brent Williams and Sarah Williams.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
