William Roger Sullivan

William Roger Sullivan, 67, of Lee County, GA, died February 8, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.  Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.  Interment will follow at 4:00 pm at Sharon Baptist Church in Cordele, GA.

Roger was born on October 13, 1955 in Hollywood, FL to Betty Faye Morrison and James Rufus Sullivan, and was raised by Tom Thuraway. He was raised in Cordele, GA and graduated from Crisp Academy and South Georgia Technical College.  He moved to the Albany area in 1974 and was employed with Custard Insurance Appraisers and Travelers Insurance Appraisers.  Roger was an Independent Insurance Appraiser for 12 years.

Roger was a member and past president of the Independent Harley Riders Association, The Southwest Georgia Sportsman Club, The Loyal Order of The Moose # 1285 and was a Master Mason and member of Dougherty Lodge # 591.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, antique cars and fishing.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anita Carol Sullivan.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Sullivan of Lee County, GA, his son, William R. “Skeet” (Kellie) Sullivan of Lee County, GA, two step-children, Brandon White of Lee County, GA and Tiffany (J.D.) Pollock of Columbus, GA, a sister, Judy Ann Walker of Vidalia,Ga, a brother, Jimmy Lee Sullivan of Albany, GA and six grandchildren, Addison, Raelyn, London, Henley, Messer and Brayleigh.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
