William Marshall Raughton, Sr

William Marshall Raughton, Sr., 79, of Albany, GA, died August 26, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Gillionville Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Haefs and Rev. Roy Cook will officiate. Interment will follow in Morris Baptist Church Cemetery in Quitman County.

A native of Opelika, AL, Mr. Raughton graduated from Opelika High School and received his engineering degree from Auburn University. He served in the United States Army and moved to Albany, GA in 1957 from Germany.

Mr. Raughton was employed with Lilliston Corporation for twenty seven years and also worked with Blue Bird Bus Company and retired from Florida Drum Company. He was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church and taught the Marshall Raughton Sunday School Class for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Floy Ann Raughton of Albany, GA, three sons, William Marshall (Marsh) Raughton, Jr. of Gaffeny, SC, Alan Raughton and his wife, Ruth of Nashville, TN and Mark Raughton of Albany, GA, a sister, Rose Ann Andrews of Chattanooga, TN, three brothers, Jimmy Raughton and his wife, Kathy of Denver, CO, Steven Raughton of Charlotte, NC and David Lee Raughton of Berkley, CA, six grandchildren, Jacob Raughton of Duluth, GA, Ben Raughton of Ft. Meade, MD, Bethany Lack and her husband, John Paul of Bowling Green, KY, Kayla Reese and her husband, Daniel of Dothan, AL, Kimberly Raughton and Cody Raughton both of Albany, GA and two great- grandchildren, Jordan Reese and McKenzie Jacobs.
