William G. Nickels

William G. Nickels, 77, of Albany, GA died May 24, 2018 at Regency Hospital in Macon, GA.  Memorial services will be conducted at a time to be announced by the family.

Mr. Nickels was a native of New Albany, MS and was a retired from the United States Marine Corps after thirty two years.  He also served the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office before retiring.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mitsu Uema Nickels and his granddaughter, Natasha Eden.

Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Sherry and Jeff Askey of Albany, GA, a son and his wife, Taigi and Kazumi Nickels of Japan, a brother and his wife, Jim and Sissy Nickels of Memphis, TN, his grandchildren, Alisha Hart and her husband, Damon of Gillette, WY, Austin Askey and Andrew Askey both of Albany, GA and Celena Nickels of Japan, a niece, Conner Nickels of Gainesville, FL and five great-grandchildren.
