William Harry Mauldin, Sr.

William Harry Mauldin, Sr. of Albany, GA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Charlie Brown will officiate.

Mr. Mauldin was born on July 5, 1941 in Camilla, GA. He graduated from Camilla High School with honors and Auburn University He worked for thirty-four years with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia in sales and management and then as a consultant. Mr. Mauldin loved his wife, children, and grandchildren, Lord and Savior, his church, and friends. He loved to play golf and was known for cooking buttermilk pies and making his special party mix. He also enjoyed music, loving to sing and was always ready with a story or joke to tell.

He was a member Byne Baptist Church, Unity Sunday School Class, sang in the Choir, was involved in ministry work with Senior adults, trailer park ministry, Vacation Bible School, and various committees at the church. Mr. Mauldin had multiple health issues the last four or five years of his life which kept him from doing many of the things he loved. It brings great sadness that he is no longer with us here on earth, but brings great joy that he has now been completely healed and is with his Lord and Savior as well as his family and friends who have gone before him. Mr. Mauldin was preceded in death by his parents, J.A. Mauldin and Winnie Wehunt Mauldin, and his brother, Jimmy Mauldin.

Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Gail Flanigan Mauldin, his children, Tammy Finley, Heather Gallagher and husband Ed, Bill Mauldin and wife Anne. He was “Boompa” to Brittney and Casey Gallagher, Will and Elizabeth Finley, Miller and Harrison Mauldin and Hunter and Hayden Payne, and “Uncle Harry” to several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Byne Memorial Baptist Church, Building the Legacy, 2832 Ledo Road, Albany, GA 31707.
