William Elmer Hearn

William Elmer Hearn, 91, of Albany, GA, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Hearn was retired from the Air Force and returned to Albany, GA after retirement. He was a veteran of WW II, the Korean War and Vietnam War and was a retired agricultural equipment mechanic with International Harvester. He served as deacon emeritus, Sunday School teacher and was a member of Westview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Hearn and Lester Russell Hearn and a sister, Sarah Pearl Wessinger.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Metts Hearn, a son, Gordon W. Hearn (Beth) all of Albany, GA, a daughter, Lynn Hearn-Hoover (Mark), Orlando, FL, three sisters, Marguerite Davis, LaGrange, GA, Lola Bloodsworth, McDonough, GA, Shirley Davis, LaGrange, GA, a sister-in-law, Sara Hearn, LaGrange, GA, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at Mathews Funeral Home.
