William Albert Haupt

God took William A. Haupt home on June 29, 2019. Born in St Louis, MO on April 30, 1931 to Anita (Schumacher) and Jacob D. Haupt of St Louis, MO, Bill graduated high school from Grover Cleveland High School in 1949. Afterwards he attended college at Washington University in St Louis, MO for one year.

His memorial service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church,

After college, Bill went to work for Schumacher Funeral Home until he was drafted into the Army in 1952. After serving two years he returned to Schumacher Funeral Home until he went to work for Anheuser Busch Brewery as a bottler in St Louis, MO. He retired in 1994 after thirty-two years. Bill moved to Big Pine Key, FL in 1994. In 2004, Bill moved to Leesburg, GA where he and his wife lived the remainder of his life.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Bertha Schumacher, parents, Anita and Jacob D. Haupt, brothers, Jack and Robert Haupt, all of St Louis, MO, and stepdaughter, Susan (Walz) Hardee of Leesburg, GA.

He leaves behind a wife of twenty-seven years, Barbara Haupt, his son, William A. Haupt, Jr., both of Leesburg, GA, grandchildren, Billee Jean Haupt, St Louis, MO, Adina East and Stephanie Carpenter, both of Lee’s Summit, MO, and four great grandchildren of Lee’s Summit, MO.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Christ United Methodist Church on Byron Plantation Road in Albany, GA.

A memorial service will be held at Christ United Memorial Church on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m..
