William "Billy" McDonald

William James “Bill” McDonald, Jr. of Lanier County, GA, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024 at SGMC in Valdosta, GA. His loving wife of sixty years, Mildred L. McDonald was by his side along with his immediate family.

He is also survived by his daughters, Sherrie (Greg) Phillips, Valdosta, GA, Dena D’Abarno, Buford, GA, brothers, Marvin G. "Jerry” (LaVerne) McDonald, George (Travis) McDonald all of Leesburg, sister, Cheryl (Tom) Rackley, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, grandchildren, Andrew Phillips, Bethany Phillips, Valdosta, GA, Nicholas D’Abarno, Buford, GA and by many nieces and nephews.

He loved his family very much and they surely loved him. He had a love for music and enjoyed singing and playing the piano with his family. Most of all he had a love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and shared that with those around him. He was a member of Lakeland Baptist Church in Lakeland, GA. He served and worked in Law Enforcement in both Dougherty and Lee Counties.

His graveside service will be 3:00 PM, Monday, November 25, 2024 at Floral Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the graveside service at Floral Memory Gardens.
