William "Bill" Blake Pressley

William Blake (Bill) Pressley, 62, of Lee County, GA, died October 16, 2017 at Willson Hospice House. A celebration of life service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. A. B. Stroud will officiate. Please come dressed as you are comfortable. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 30 Honor Guard and the Lt. Col. Thomas M. Nelson Camp #141. A native of Royston, GA, born to the late Robert and Imogene Pressley, Bill grew up in Albany, GA and Hamilton, MS. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1974 and served in the United Sates Air Force for six years. Bill attended Darton State College, graduated from Albany Technical School and was employed with the Marine Corps Logistic Base for thirty years. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of and Past Commander of the Lt. Col. Thomas F. Nelson Camp # 141, Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Loyal Order of The Moose # 1285, The Sportsman Club and the Hanaulucthia Hunting Club. Survivors include his wife, Neta Acord Pressley of Lee County, GA, two sons, Christopher “Chris” Pressley of Sasser, GA and Robert Pressley of Miami, FL, three sisters, Gail Vanzant (Charles, deceased) of Lee County, GA, Glenda (Paul) Erickson of Tallahassee, FL and Carol (Mark) Garner of Lee County, GA, four brothers, Kendall Pressley and Michael (Beverly) Pressley all of Lee County, GA, Randall Pressley of Terrell County, GA and Timothy (Regina) Pressley of Worth County, GA, a number of nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Shawn Erickson of Hillsboro, NC. Those desiring may make contributions to Willson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA 31707. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
