Wiley Terrell Pierce

Wiley Terrell (Bubba) Pierce, 88, of Albany, GA, died Monday, February 29, 2016, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital North Campus. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Avalon United Methodist Church. Rev. Debbie Cone and Rev. Ken Myers will officiate.

Born in Camilla, GA, Mr. Pierce had resided in Albany, GA since 1947. He had served in the Navy and was with the Albany Fire Department for thirteen years and the Albany City Police for seven years before serving at The Naval Base until its closing. He then was employed and retired with MCLB and retired from the Dougherty County School System. He was a member of Avalon United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis W. Pierce and Charlie Ruth Akridge Pierce.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Mary Catherine Gillis Pierce, Albany, GA, three daughters, Terri Ann Dickinson (Tim), Atlanta, GA, Kathryn Pierce, Columbiaville, MI, Kay Pierce Bradley (Ray), Bronwood, GA, two grandchildren, Jeffery Terrell Pierce, Dacula, GA and Amanda Wall (Brian), Dacula, GA, two great-grandchildren, Owen Wall and Olivia Wall.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Avalon United Methodist Church.
