W.D. Turner, Jr

W.D. (Bud) Turner, Jr., 79, of Albany, GA, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Cordray Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Hilton Gillespie will officiate.

A native of Calhoun County, GA, born to the late W.D and Burline Bailey Turner, he had resided in Albany, GA for forty five years moving from Seattle, WA. Mr. Turner was a United States Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ayers Corporation as a tool and die maker, a member of Cordray United Methodist Church and a lifetime member VFW Post # 2785.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ann (Jinny) Turner of Albany, GA, four sons, Derry (Shawn) Turner of Gray, GA, Kirk (Maria) Turner of Sugar Hill, GA, Randy (Vickie) Van Lith of Monticello, FL and Kevin (Linda) Van Lith of Loganville, GA, four daughters, Brenda (Steve) Tritt and Tammy (Steve) Schutt all of Snohomish, WA, Linda (Rex) Britton of Renton, WA and Martina (Gregory) Young of Statenville, GA, four sisters, Berthaline Schwartz of Bonney Lake, WA, Bettie (Edward) Sheffield of Edison, GA, Beatrice (Jimmie) Allen, of Leesburg. GA, Louise (Roy) Roney of Edison, GA, two brothers, John (Sheila) Turner of Albany, GA and Luke Turner of Randolph County GA, two sister-in-laws, Francis Turner of Leesburg, GA, and Faye Knight of Worth County, GA, eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven sisters, Catherine Whittington, Ossie Mae Frazier, Nora Lee Paul, Lucille Bowman, Martha Turner, Mary Doris Turner and Anna Barbara Moore and three brothers, O.W. Conley, James Turner, Bobby Turner.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
