Warren Jonathan (Jon) Richardson, Jr

Warren Jonathan (Jon) Richardson, Jr., 60 of Smithville, GA, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Cook Co., GA. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Smithville City Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Braswell will officiate.

Born in Americus, GA, Jon resided in Lee Co., GA most of his life except when he lived in Perry, FL from 1982 through 1993. He attended Smithville Schools and transferred to Lyman Ward Military Academy in Camp Hill, AL where he graduated with Marksmanship honors. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Army. Jon was an avid outdoorsman, his hobbies were hunting, fishing and gardening and he was a firearms enthusiast. He was employed as a safety specialist with Bilfinger Industrial Services, Inc. and had a soft heart for animals and children and often took care of their needs before his own.

Survivors include three sisters, Jimmie R. Goode (Lynn), Lilburn, GA, Winnie R. Beamon (Buddy) and Denise R. Bell both of Leesburg, GA and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
