Warren Leon Johnson, 77, of Douglasville, GA, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Willson Hospice House. Friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of his life, 5:00 pm Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the home of his sister, Mariellen Bateman, 2409 E. Doublegate Drive. A private family service will be held at a later date.
A native of Columbia, SC, Mr. Johnson had grown up in Albany, GA and was a 1953 graduate of Albany High School, attended Georgia Southwestern College and The University of Georgia. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the army.
He was retired from General Distributing Company in Albany, GA as general manager and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leslie Johnson and Mary Lucille Warren Johnson, a brother, William James Johnson, III and a sister, Leslie Johnson Dehn.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Myra Clark Johnson, Douglasville, GA, a son, Monte Johnson and his wife Cindy, Douglasville, GA, a daughter, Lacey Johnson Whitney and her husband Robbie, Sunbury, GA, two brothers, Ray Loring Johnson, MD, Albany, GA, John Johnson, Arlington, TX, a sister, Mariellen Johnson Bateman, Albany, GA, six grandchildren, Christian Johnson and wife Amelie, Clark Johnson, Renn Johnson, Chandler Johnson, Mary Kathryn Whitney, Palmer Whitney, and a great-grandchild, Caden Johnson.
The family is at the residence of Mariellen Johnson Bateman, 2409 E. Doublegate Dr., Albany, GA, 31721.
