Wallace Weathersby

Wallace E. Weathersby, 85, of Lee County, GA, died November 30, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Aaron McCulley will officiate. Interment will follow in Notchaway Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Baker County, GA.

Mr. Weathersby was born in Bainbridge, GA to Marcus and Louise Weathersby. He was one of five children, grew up in Bainbridge and graduated from Bainbridge High School. Mr. Weathersby met and married Jean Moore in 1961 and moved to Albany, GA in 1966. He was employed with Bruce Jones Auto Parts for many years and retired from Advanced Auto Parts. In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Moore Weathersby.

Mr. Weathersby was a member of Philema Road Baptist Church. He loved fishing and fished almost every day. He loved yard work and tending his vegetable garden. Most of all, he was a family man and loved spending time with family. Mr. Weathersby was a simple man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.

Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Weathersby and Loretta (Jeff) Blackmon all of Lee County, GA, two grandsons, Berry (Jennifer) Davidson of Lee County, GA and Skyler Blackmon of Lee County, GA and a great-granddaughter, Jenna (David) Parsons of Loganville, GA.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Mathews Funeral Home.
