Wallace C. Dawson

Wallace C. Dawson, 69, of Mitchell County, died Wednesday, November 6, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

His funeral service will be Thursday 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with interment in Floral Memory Gardens.  Dr. Gary Hadden will officiate.

A native of Barberton, OH, Mr. Dawson had lived in Albany since 1968 and was retired from M.C.L.B. in 2003. He graduated in 1966 from Manchester High School, a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U. S. Marine Corps and a member of First Baptist Church of Acree.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Katherine Hurst Dawson, Mitchell County, son, Dennis Edward Dawson, Phoenix, AZ, daughter, Katherine Denise Barnes, (Jesse), Albany, grandchildren, Ashley Pritchett (Jacob), Amber Dawson, Jaden “Buddy” Barnes, Jordyn Barnes, sisters, Margo Holmes (Jan) Akron, OH, Nancy Dollard, Walnut Creek, CA, brothers, Dennis Dawson (Michelle), Vero Beach, FL, Roger Dawson (Sherri) Dover, FL.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 6 to 8 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
