W. C. Webb, Jr

W.C. Webb, Jr., 66, of Lake Blackshear, GA, died January, 31, 2017 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at The First United Methodist Church of Albany. Rev. Ken Myers and Rev. Thad Haygood will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Crown Hill Mausoleum.

A native of Ocala, FL, W.C. was born to the late Wilmont Clyde Webb, Sr. and Linda Gail Counts Webb. He graduated from Ocala High School and attended the University of Central Florida and received a degree in Landscape Architecture from Florida State University but was a Gator Fan. W.C. moved to Albany, GA from Tallahassee, FL in 1970. He opened The Parlor in 1972 and operated it continuously for forty five years.

W.C. was associated with the Miss America Organization since 1985, and was Miss Georgia's hair designer at the Miss America Pageant for many years. He also helped to wardrobe numerous Miss Georgia's and Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen, as well as other local, state and national titleholders. As a certified fitness trainer, he helped advice many young women who have become swimsuit preliminary winners. W.C. was a member of the Warwick United Methodist Church, was an active volunteer with the Albany Humane Society, the American Cancer Society, and Albany Community Hospice.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Webb of Americus, GA, a brother, Richard F. Webb and his wife, Betty of Atlanta, GA, his brother-in-law, Lester "Bubba" Bell of Albany, GA, Faye's mother, Juanita Fuller of Tallahassee, FL, eight nephews, Kim Bell of Valdosta, GA, Brett Bell of Monroe, GA, Drew Webb and his wife, Natalie of Marietta, GA, Evan Webb and William Webb both of Denver, CO, Reid Webb of Neptune Beach, FL, three great-nephews, Morgan Bell, Colby Bell and Austin Bell and three great-nieces, Ashlie Bell, Emmy Webb and Lyla Webb. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanelle Bell.
