Vinson Franklin

Vinson Franklin, 94, of Lee County, GA, died June 27, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Sherwood Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Pollock and Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Nashville, GA, Mr. Franklin graduated from Berrien County High School. He was employed with Harvey’s Supermarkets in Nashville and moved to Albany in 1956. Mr. Franklin was an employee of Harvey’s for sixty two years and retired as Store Manager on Slappey. He was a Master Mason, a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and the Berean Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Gay Franklin, a grandson, Josh Franklin and three brothers, Verdane Franklin, Coy Franklin and Vernon Franklin.

Survivors include, his sons, Phil Franklin and Larry Franklin of Lee County, GA, a sister, Agnes Jones of Stone Mountain, GA, two brothers, Pete Franklin and his wife, Marsha of Fairfax, VA and Herman Franklin of Atlanta, GA, his grandchildren, Lorie Glover and her husband, Brannon of Buford, GA, Brad Franklin and his wife, Abby of Lee County, GA, Jack Franklin and his wife Candice of Albany, GA, and Stuart Franklin and his wife, Meagan of Albany, GA, and his great-grandchildren, Seth Franklin, Julianna Franklin, Garrett Glover, Justin Glover, Will Franklin, Ansley Franklin, Sofia Franklin, Cecelia Franklin, and Hudson Godby.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home.
