Mrs. Vera Olive Stone Craft, 92, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning (July 16, 2024) with her family by her side.
Born in Lineville, AL on August 29, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ira Richmond Stone and Vera Alice Wilson Stone.
In 1956, Olive met Wayne Craft, her husband of over 60 years and they were the first couple to be married at Porterfield Methodist Church in 1957.
Olive graduated from Auburn University in 1953 with a degree in Dietetics. Subsequently, Olive worked with the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Food and Nutrition department for more than 40 years. After retiring, she volunteered her time at the hospital, her church, Albany Area Resource Center, and other various organizations.
She was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, servant attitude, growing roses, the love and support for her family and community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Wayne Craft Sr.; sister Alice Koleen Stone Haire; and brother; Willis Walton Stone.
Although she spent most of her life in Albany, Georgia, Olive spent her final months of life residing with her children in Warner Robins, GA. Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Craft (Maria Lewis), Alice McLaughlin (Monte), and one son Randy Craft, all from Warner Robins GA; 3 grandchildren, Jordan McLaughlin and Mitch McLaughlin (Sam) of Warner Robins GA, Mike McLaughlin (Mariah) of Santa Maria, CA; 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her primary caregivers for their unwavering devotion, Patricia Arrindell, Debra Duncan, Jean Hendrix, Shayonda Lockhart, Luverdia Suarez and Brianna Taylor.

Her celebration of life will be at Porterfield Methodist Church on Saturday August 17, 2024, at 11:00am. The Rev. Chuck Knight will officiate. Family visitation will be at the church prior to the service from 10:00am until 11:00am.
