Vangeline Virginia Richter

Vangeline Virginia Posey Richter, 83, of Albany, GA, died Friday, January 16, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Hanna will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Camilla, GA, Mrs. Richter had resided in Albany, GA, since 1950 moving from Moultrie, GA. She retired from the Dougherty County Board of Education as a school bus driver after thirty six years and was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and First Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Parker Posey and Lillie Belle Bolton Posey, her husband, Edgar Joe Richter and a brother, Dennis Parker Posey.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie Richter, Albany, GA, two sons, Don Richter and his wife Linda, White Oak, GA, Dale Richter and his wife Karen, Leesburg, GA, a sister, Wayne Daffron and her husband Olin, Brunswick, GA, two brothers, Winston Posey and his wife Joyce, Charleston, SC, Roger Posey, Albany, sister in-laws, Bonnie Randolph, Albany, GA, Willene Richter, Leesburg, GA , Iris Posey, Albany, GA, four grandchildren, Celese Beaudreau, MD, Shanghai, China, Heath Richter, MD, Dublin, GA,, Travis Richter, Los Angeles, CA and Taylor Richter, Leesburg, GA, seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
