Valda Clark Goss, age 85, died Friday August 8, 2014 in Albany, GA. She was born March 4, 1929, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Clark of Sale City, Georgia. She was the middle child of nine siblings. She is survived by her youngest brother and sister, Robert Clark (Robbie) and Ann Clark Taylor of Athens. She was a lifelong member of the Sale City Baptist Church. She was active in Sunday School, WMU, and served as the church clerk.
A graduate of Albany High School, she attended Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, GA. Mrs. Goss worked for many years as the office manager of an agribusiness that owned the Sale City Milling Company and the livestock auction barns in Mitchell County. She retired after more than twenty years of service as the business office manager of the Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla, GA.
Mrs. Goss was married 56 years to the late Clinton R. “Jake†Goss of Sale City, who predeceased her in 2004. She is survived by their daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jim Hilliard of Warner Robins, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Dee Goss of Albany, GA grandchildren Hilary H. DeMillo ( Andrew), Valerie H. Sharma (Sameer), Knox Hilliard(Catherine), Collins Goss; Clark G. Pearson (Greg), Clint Goss; and great-grandson Simon DeMillo.
Funeral services will be held at the Sale City Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. Sunday August 10, 2014 with a private interment at the Sale City Cemetery. Reverend Tim Bozeman will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends make a memorial gift to the Sale City Baptist Church or a charity of their choice.
