Travis "Hubert" Rogers

Travis “Hubert” Rogers 85, of Lee County, GA, died January 14, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Hubert was born in Doerun GA, on May 9, 1933 to the late Dewey and Julia Rogers and grew up on a farm there. He moved to Albany in 1960 and was employed with the Dougherty County School System as a mechanic for many years and retired with Bellsouth Telephone Company.

After retirement, he operated K and M Lawn Care. Hubert loved to hunt, fish and watching wrestling and The Gaithers Gospel Group. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melvina S. Rogers, his son, Martin R. Rogers, and siblings, Mary R. Godbee, Melba McCreary, Roy L. Rogers, and Othorus M. Rogers. 

Survivors include his children, Pam R. Burson (Bryan), Kevin H. Rogers (Sue), Brian K. Rogers (Yvonne) all of Lee County, GA, five grandchildren Chad Rogers (Stephanie), Brooke B. Hagler (Matthew), Juston Burson (Amber), Blake Rogers (Jamie), Landon Poulson (Elizabeth), several great grandchildren, a brother, Murray Rogers, sisters, Montene R. Hembree, Jeannene R. Hooks, and special extended family, Sandy and Dennis Parker.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM Wednesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
