Tommy Russell Sinquefield, Sr., 89, of Morgan, GA, died August 17, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at New Light Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Hall and Rev. Jackie Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Wayback, GA, Mr. Sinquefield had resided in Calhoun County, GA all of his life. He was born to the late Earnest Columbus and Lucy Lee Sinquefield. He graduated from Morgan High School and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Mr. Sinquefield was a farmer all of his life and the owner of The Sinquefield Mall. He was a member of New Light Freewill Baptist Church, Rueben Lodge # 388 F&AM and the widower of Eula Faye Avera Sinquefield.
Survivors include his son, Tommy R. (Sonny) Sinquefield, Jr. and his wife, Theo of Morgan, GA, his daughter-in-law, Debi Beaty of Albany, GA, five grandchildren, Donna Sinquefield, Tommy Russell (Russ) Sinquefield, III, Joseph L. (Joey) Kimbrell and Jeffrey Lee Kimbrell all of Leary, GA and Kristin Ashley Kaita and her husband, Ryan of Columbia, AL, four great-grandchildren, Jesse Jordan and Josey Jordan both of Leary, GA, and Sage Washington and Lealand Kaita both of Columbia, AL. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Sue Sinquefield and a son, James Robert Sinquefield.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. at Mathews Funeral Home.
