Timothy Brian Carter

May 13, 1975 — September 23, 2024

Albany

Timothy Brian Carter, of Albany, GA, died September 23, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 at 2:00 pm at The First Baptist Church of Albany. Dr. “Butch” Knight will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Tim was born in Atlanta, GA on May 13, 1975 to the late Kenneth F. Carter, Sr. and Annie L. Copeland. He was raised in the Atlanta area and graduated from Central Gwinnett High School where he was Drum Major of the High School Marching Band. Tim attended Columbus State University where he studied music.

Music was always such a huge part of Tim’s life. It brought the same amount of joy to him that he brought to so many people. He played multiple string instruments but drums and percussion were his specialty. In his early years he played in multiple bands and ensembles. He joined the band Ella Speed in 1997 and stayed with them until 1999. As that came to an end he started a new chapter in the place that would become his home.

Timmy joined The Bo Henry Band at the beginning of 2000 and shortly after moved to Albany, GA. Tim was welcomed with open arms into the community. To start with, Albany was just his home base because the band was on the road playing all over the Southeast. Eventually the traveling slowed down some and Tim began working as one of the managers at Harvest Moon. His work ethic was always second to none having multiple jobs for the rest of his life. He worked part time at Lowe’s, taught drum lessons to many youth and adults in the area at Parker Music, churches, private homes, and most recently at Portman music. Tim met and married his wife, Huntley, in Albany and his loyalty to his family was like no other. His daughter Ansley was the light of his life. His constant and steadfast care for Huntley was unquestionably his top priority. He still took the initiative to provide until the end working part time at the Bread House, teaching drums, and continuing to play drums in the BHB and at First Baptist Church of Albany.

Tim’s life was dedicated to serving others in so many ways and that was a true testament to his selflessness. He had a way of bringing happiness and a ray of sunshine to so many simply with his famous smile. From being a modest entertainer, the most loyal friend, a loving husband, father, son, and brother, to a devoted follower of Christ were just some of his most noted attributes. He has been referred to as one of the sweetest people with the kindest soul, time and time again. All of these things are reasons he was loved by so many and will be missed so much. The world needs more Timmys.

Survivors include his wife, Huntley M. Carter, of Albany, GA, his daughter Ansley Troutman of Cumming, GA, his step-son Evan Fink of Panama City Beach, FL, brother, Ken (Michelle) Carter of Conyers, GA, sister, Christa Carter of Duluth, GA, step-granddaughter, Nova Fink of Panama City Beach, FL, nephew Tyler Villacorta of Duluth GA, and three nieces, Ashley (Calvin) Gordon of Bishop, GA, Madison (Tyler) Holcombe of Covington, GA and Hayden Carter of Conyers, GA.

Pall bearers will be his Band of Brothers: Bo Henry, Brandon Fox, Buck Bradshaw, Kent Dowling, Mark Brimberry, Terry Stubbs, and Todd Fox.
