Thomas Paul Welch

Thomas Paul Welch, 79, of Moultrie GA formally of Albany, GA passed away Friday afternoon, October 11, 2024, at Pruitt Health - Sunrise with his niece, Brittany Welch, (daughter of Bonnie & Steve) by his side when he passed away. She spent countless hours with him while he was at the facility. Her two sons (Payton and Kase) were always with her. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate 

Born on July 28, 1945, in Albany, GA to the late Joseph and Lois Welch, Thomas proudly served in the Vietnam War as a member of The United States Marine Corps, where distinguished himself as a Purple Heart medalist.

Upon returning to Albany, Thomas became the owner and operator of Welch’s Automotive, establishing a reputation for quality workmanship and integrity. His dedication to providing exceptional service resonated within the community, where he was cherished not only as a business owner but as a friend to many.

Beyond his professional life, Thomas enjoyed spending his time watching westerns, a hobby that brought him joy and relaxation. Those who knew him will remember his passion for storytelling, often sharing tales inspired by the classic films he cherished.

Thomas is survived by his siblings, Joseph "Joe" Welch (Marie), George "Steve" Welch (Bonnie), and Randy William Land (Tammie), along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

The family will receive friends Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. until funeral hour at the cemetery.
