Thomas Alexander Ray

Thomas Alexander Ray, 83, of Albany, GA died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Lonnie Gibson will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Born in Lumber City, GA, Mr. Ray had resided in Albany, GA most of his life. He was retired from the City of Albany, GA and was a member of Mercedes Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Glenn Ray, Sr. and Susie Margaret Browning Ray, two brothers, Clinton Ray, John G. Ray, Jr., two sisters, Virginia Voegtle and Abbie Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Varnadoe Ray, Albany, GA, a son, Allen Richardson, Wichita, Kansas
a daughter, Rhonda Saxon (John), Sylvester, GA, two grandsons, Patrick Richardson and Sean Richardson.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
