Mr. Pritchett was born in Albany, Georgia on Christmas Eve morning in 1926 to Carl Blair Pritchett and Isabel Mann Gibbs Pritchett. He was a graduate of Albany High School where he excelled in music and received a clarinet scholarship to the University of Miami. He chose instead to attend North Georgia College and the University of Georgia.

A visionary for his time, Tommy was a man with a great sense of humor and zest for life. Whether driving a convertible aqua-mobile from the beach into the ocean at St. George Island, crashing a hot air balloon into the backwaters of the Flint River after taking off without a pilot, or sailing a 35 foot sport fishing boat from Miami to Panama City, Tommy was always ready for adventure.
He was a man of trust and dignity who enjoyed deeply held friendships, and his generosity to friends and family was unsurpassed.

Tommy had a successful 50 year career in the automobile business, operating Pritchett Ford Company along with his father and his brother, Carl Blair "Bunny" Pritchett. At the time, Pritchett Ford was the oldest family owned Ford dealership in Georgia. Independently, Tommy opened Pritchett Honda in Albany, Macon Acura, and Thomasville Honda. Upon retiring, he spent his remaining years investing in real estate. He was well known for his business acumen and his contributions to the Albany community, and often made deals on a handshake.

Mr. Pritchett was the great-great-great grandson of Albany founder Nelson Tift and is survived by his wife Patricia Pritchett of Albany, Georgia; his son Thomas Hall Pritchett, Jr. of Destin, Florida; daughter Susan Ida Pritchett of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter Dinah Pritchett Phillips of Alpharetta, Georgia; daughter Carolyn Pritchett Hill of Leesburg, Georgia; stepdaughter JJ Alberson Dorn of Meridian, Mississippi; stepson Brent Barfield of Kennessaw, Georgia; granddaughter May Isabelle Milkins of Hamamatsu, Japan; grandson Coley Thomas Pritchett of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandson Colton Hall Phillips of Alpharetta, Georgia; grandson Jonathan David Hill of Leesburg, Georgia; granddaughter Olivia Isabel Hill of Leesburg Georgia; and close family friends Sonny Stewart of Albany, Georgia and Kat Howkins of Winterville, Georgia.
