Thomas David Preston, Jr., 84, of Albany, GA, died Wednesday, December 3, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
Born in Camilla, GA, Mr. Preston was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Navy and resided in Newton, GA before moving to Putney, GA where he lived for fifty years before moving to Albany, GA two years ago. He owned and operated the Family Recreation (Eight Ball) in Putney, GA for twenty seven years and was retired from MCLB. Mr. Preston also was a barber and owned and operated Magnolia Barber Shop and retired from Northside Barber Shop. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 30 and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lightfoot Preston, Albany, GA, three sons, David Stewart Preston, Newton, GA, Reed Lightfoot (Vicki) and Calvin Lightfoot (Tammy) all of Lee Co., GA, three daughters, Deborah Preston, Los Angeles, CA, Bonnie Preston, Australia, and Georgia Brooks Battles, Brinson, GA, ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Calvin and Tammy Lightfoot, 677 Creekside Drive, Leesburg, GA.
