Thomas Virgil Patat

Thomas Virgil Patat, 61, of Leesburg, GA, died October 3, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Chuck Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

Virgil was born and grew up in Perry, GA and he was one of seven children born to the late Charlie and Onita Patat. He moved to Leesburg, GA from Acree, GA in 1980. He was a self employed contractor and the owner of J & S Roofing. Virgil was a member of Kinchafoonee Baptist Church, was the former teacher of the Youth Sunday School Class and loved his R.A. boys. He also coached Dixie League Baseball for many years. Virgil was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Patat, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Benne Patat of Leesburg, GA, five sons, Tommy Patat of Tulsa, OK, Shawn (Brandy) Patat of Lawrenceville, GA, Ben (Chelsea) Patat of Dayton, OH, Jonathan Patat of Albany, GA and Joshua Patat of Newton, MS, a sister, Nancy Patat and Kenneth of Wartburg, TN, four brothers, Sonny Patat and Marie of Jackson, AL, Ricky Patat of Chattanooga, TN, Ronnie (Carla) Patat and Phillip (Sarah) Patat all of Bonaire, GA, his grandchildren, Caitlyn Patat and her fiancee',, Brian Piotrowski, Hannah Patat and Makayla Patat all of Osage, OK, Thomas Patat III of Tulsa, OK, Alize Patat and Lil' Shawn Patat both of Lawrenceville, GA and one great-grandson, Benjamin Piotrowski of Osage, OK.

The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at Mathews Funeral Home.
