Thomas Jefferson Ledford

Thomas Jefferson Ledford, 92, of Lee County, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Sherwood Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Pollock and Mr. Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Thundering Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Ledford had resided in Lee County nearly fifty years before moving to Century Pines and Evergreen Assisted Living in Albany, GA. Mr. Ledford was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years. He has been a member of Sherwood Baptist Church for thirty-five years and was in the Berean Sunday School Class. He previously attended Thundering Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Ledford was a member of the Retired Letters Carriers and the Paul Joiner Retired National Guard Association. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred McFarlin Ledford.

Survivors include two sons Thomas G. Ledford (Charlotte) of Albany, GA, Mark Ledford (Nola) of Savannah, GA, a daughter Mollie L. Neal (Clark) of Baker County, seven grandchildren Millie Page (Neal), Clark Neal, Jr. (Suzy), Suzanna Warbington (Chad), Thomas B. Ledford (Melissa), John R. Ledford (Lisa), Tim Ledford (Victoria), Kayt Ledford Carver (James), nine great grandchildren, Claire Anne Page, Connor McFarlin Page, Emma Katherine Warbington, Julia Rose Warbington, Grace Lauren Warbington, Isabella Grace Ledford, Thomas Wilson Ledford, James Robert Carver, and Kaylynn Carver, two brothers Raymond Ledford of Moultrie, GA, Ray Ledford (Jo) of Raleigh, NC, and a sister Fran Keating of Atlanta, GA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Atrium at Sherwood Baptist Church.
