Teresa F. Holmes

Teresa Fulkerson Holmes, 62, of Leesburg, GA, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 losing a battle to pancreatic cancer at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Henry will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

Born in Albany, GA, Teresa had resided in Leesburg, GA since 1982. She was a 1970 graduate of Dougherty County High School, she was employed with Dougherty County Tax Commission from 1974 through 2013, she played softball for Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital from 1975 until 1980 and she was a founding member of the Lee County Lions Club and was chairman of the Lee County Board of Equalization from 2009 until present. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sasser. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Henry Fulkerson and Frances Louise Horne Fulkerson.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Holmes, two daughters, Tricia Holmes Quinn and Terri Holmes McDuffie and her husband Richard all of Leesburg, GA, two sisters, Pat Fulkerson Bailey, Bronwood, GA, Barbara Fulkerson Johanson and her husband Dan, a brother, Joe Fulkerson and his wife Pam all of Melbourne, FL and five grandchildren, Abbigail McDuffie, Daniel McDuffie, Christopher McDuffie, Isabell Quinn and Sadie Quinn.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
