Tamara (Tammie) Louise Mills, 59, of Albany, died after a short illness on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Her funeral service of Holy Communion will be at 6:00 PM on Holy Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour/St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, 4800 Old Dawson Rd. A potluck supper will be held directly afterwards, at which time the family will receive friends.
Born in Louisville, KY, Tammie had lived in Albany, on and off, for most of her life. She followed in her parents' footsteps as a Church musician, giving the gift of voice and instrument, playing the piano and organ for a variety of parishes throughout her life, as well as occasionally serving as Parish Secretary. When she wasn't serving the Church, she worked in banking, as well as data-entry/transcription. For the last twenty-four years of her life, she gave of her time, talents and treasures as a member and employee of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour. Above all, she will best be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mother, wife and best friend.
Survivors include her husband David Mills, Albany; children Bo Spires (Rebekah), Stephens City, VA, Ashly Castleberry (Nick), Oak Harbor, WA, Amber Youngblood (Billy), Dawson, Martin Mills, Albany; grandchildren Addison, Owen and Luke Spires, Logan Jackson and Dayton Castleberry, Jeremy, Darrel, Tyler, William, Sage and Dylan Youngblood; great-grandchild Brooklyn Youngblood; mother and step-father, Dr. Elizabeth & LCDR Ron Wolfe, Albany; sisters, Dr. Thalia Martin, Middletown, DE, Karen Hardy (Doug), Scottsdale, AZ; brothers, Tim Martin (Terry), Knoxville, TN, Tory Martin, Jacksonville, FL, Ronnie Wolfe, San Diego, CA, Karl Wolfe (Carol), Flatrock, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives not mentioned here.
Those desiring please make memorials to St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, earmarked "Memorial for Tammie". Any donations will go to the music department for Our Saviour.
