Susie Lee Hardage Crocker, 92, of Dawson Manor in Dawson, GA died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM at New Providence Baptist Church, Buena Vista, GA. Rev. David Chapman and Rev. John Homer will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Crocker will lie in state at the church one hour before the service.
A native of Buena Vista, GA, Mrs. Crocker had resided in Dawson, GA since 2007. She graduated from Marion County High School and was employed as a civil service employee at Fort Benning during World War II and retired in 1962. She then became a medical records clerk, and retired from Marion Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Crocker had dual membership at New Providence Baptist Church and Brantley Methodist Church, and was a member of the Golden Key Club.
Survivors include her daughter and her husband, Patti and Mark Thornhill of Worth County, GA, a son, David Crocker of Atlanta, GA, four step-sons, Jack (Leisla) Crocker, Jr. of Great Falls, MT, Bill (Debbie) Crocker of Clarksville, TN, Mike (Sue) Crocker of Clinton, MS, Danny (Debra) Crocker of Winona, MS; four step-daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Powell of Germantown, OH, Linda Haynes of Saco, MT, Deborah (Matt) Gilbert of Black Eagle, MT and Janice (Jack) Taylor of Mansfield, GA; and two grandchildren, Kaitlin Crocker and Matthew Thornhill.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
