Sue Walden Smith

Sue Walden Smith, 84, of Albany, GA passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025 in Tallahassee, FL. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Johnny Nixon will officiate.

Sue was born and raised in Boaz, Alabama . She married her husband Arnold F. Smith Jr. in 1958. In 1959 she had her first son David, then three years later her son Clark. The couple then years later settled in Albany, GA and after many years of dedication she retired from the Dougherty County School System where she was a lunchroom assistant manager.

She was known for her warmth and kindness. Always bringing a smile to those around her. She loved decorating and crafting and after the loss of her husband she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life. She will be dearly missed. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John David Walden and Jeanette Dennis Walden. 

Survivors include her sons, Clark Smith (Heather), Leesburg, GA, David A. Smith (Jill), Boaz, AL, brother, James Walden (Betty), Boaz, AL, grandchildren, Matthew Smith (Leah), Heather Flynn (Michael), Thomasville, GA, Eric Smith, Leesburg, GA and great-grandchildren, John David Smith, Jaxson Flynn, Maggie Smith, Harper Flynn and Ethan Smith.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 14, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
