Stevie Elbert Etheridge, 63, of Lee County, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. His remains have been cremated per his request. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

Born in Sylvester, GA, Stevie attended schools in Dougherty County before joining the United States Army. He was stationed in Burtonwood England as a supervisor of the finance division providing financial support for all Americans stationed in Europe. After returning from Europe Stevie was stationed at Ft. Rucker as a Crash Fire Rescue Specialist. After serving in the Army Stevie was employed in multiple divisions with the United States Postal Service in Albany, GA, Memphis, TN, and St. Louis MS from 1982 until his retirement in 2007. He is preceded in death by his father Charles Eugene Etheridge, two brothers Rundy Etheridge of Albany, and Lennis Etheridge of Sylvester.

Survivors include his wife Wanda Etheridge of Lee County, two sons Erik Etheridge of Valdosta, GA, Grady Eubanks Jr. of Morgan, GA, his daughter Rebecca Ann Stone of Leesburg, GA, two grandchildren Gracie Ann Stone and Evie Ann Eubanks, and his mother Doris Fowler Parker of Leesburg, GA.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300 Jacksonville, Fl 32256.
