Steve Wayne Corley, Sr.

Steve Wayne Corley, Sr., 73, of Lee County, passed away Wednesday morning with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 at Mathews Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow to Leesburg City Cemetery. Mr. Bobby Cook will officiate. 

Born on July 23, 1951, in Colquitt, Georgia, to the late Benjamin and Fannie Corley and grew up in Lee County. Steve graduated from Lee County High School in 1969 furthered his education by studying machinist skills at Albany Tech. In 2011, he retired from Sellers Tile, where he served as their marble and granite fabricator.

Steve found joy and fulfillment in the great outdoors. He was passionate about hunting and fishing. Additionally, he had a remarkable knack for building and tinkering with various projects. But most of all he deeply loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Fannie Corley, as well as his brother, Wayne Corley.

Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-one years, Mary Jane Corley, his son, Steve Corley, Jr. and his wife Kelly, his grandchildren Brooklyn Rouse (Austin), Branson Goff (Tyler), and Davis Corley (Madison), all of Lee County, great-grandchildren, Rainey, Oaklynn, Gannon, Lennon, Lakyn, Shoal, and Posie, his siblings, Marie Thayer (Ray), Gene Corley, and Craig Corley.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
