Stephen W. Tupper

Stephen W. Tupper (MSgt, USMC, Ret), 69, of Lee County, GA, died February 7, 2023 at his residence.  A memorial service will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home.  Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.  The United States Marine Corps will provide Military Honors.

Mr. Tupper was born on May 3, 1953 in Onawa, Iowa to Lawrence and Rita Tupper.  He grew up in Pinole, CA and graduated from Pinole Valley High School in 1971.  After High School, Mr. Tupper joined the United States Army and served one tour before joining the United States Marine Corps.  He served for twenty-three years during Vietnam to Desert Storm, with stations in Hawaii, The Philippines, Barstow, CA and finally, Albany, GA before retiring in 2003.

Mr. Tupper was a Master Mason and member of Dougherty Lodge #591 F & AM and enjoyed deep sea fishing, coin collecting, and softball. During his military years, he was an All Marine and All Navy Softball player.

Survivors include his children, Bryan (Claudia) Tupper and Jason (Pia Vanessa) Tupper, all of Lee County, GA and Kristina Edwards of Albany, GA, a brother, David Tupper of Pinole, CA, his grandchildren, Anthony Tupper, Katelyn Tupper, Beau Tupper, Siana Tupper, Saylee Ann Tupper, Sophelia Tupper, Taylor Edwards and Michael Blake Edwards and four great-grandchildren, Holden, Season, Prairie and Nature.
