SSgt. Ernie Griffin

Ernie Griffin, 65, of Lee County, died Friday, May 1, 2015 at Willson Hospice House. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Ross Powell, Mr Frank Mills, Mr. Robert C. Tadlock and Mr. Tom Carden will officiate. Military Honors will follow.

Born in Albany, GA Ernie attended Dougherty County High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served four years during the Vietnam era. He would later enlist in the Army National Guard and serve twenty-three years before retiring. Ernie enjoyed fishing in his spare time and was a member of the VFW.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Tonya) Griffin and Jason (Melissa) Griffin both of Lee County, a grandson, Gage Griffin, three granddaughters, Banks Griffin, Everly Griffin, and Olivia Brown all of Lee County and two sisters, Betty (Bill) Thompson of Lee County, and Rita (Billy) Cross of Albany, GA.
