Shirley Faye Veteto

Shirley Faye Veteto, of Albany, GA, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the age of 84. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Isabella Baptist Church Cemetery, Sylvester, GA. Rev. Paul Pritchard and Dr. J. Eron White will officiate.

 Born on April 9, 1940, in Caraway, Arkansas to the late Chester Wilson and Veola Grooms Richey. Throughout her life, she exemplified love and kindness, dedicating herself to her family as a veteran's wife and nurturing her children and grandchildren with boundless affection.

Shirley held a deep faith and cherished her relationship with God, often found reading her Bible and drawing strength from her beliefs. Shirley cherished the simple joys of life. She had a passion for decorating, especially around the Christmas season, which brought her immense happiness. In addition, she enjoyed shopping and dressing for special occasions. She was a member of Albany Baptist Church.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Emory Veteto, grandchildren, Joshua Veteto and Jessie Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Fred Baker  and Melida Daughtry .

She is survived by her son Mike Veteto (Glenda), of Albany, GA her daughter Denise Easley of Fayetteville, AR; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Additionally, Shirley leaves behind four sisters: Joyce Branch, Karla Woolridge, and Marsha Morris, all residing in Arkansas, and Glenna Jarvis of Oklahoma.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Mathews Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm
