Shirley Bernardine Lindsey Tison

Shirley Bernardine Lindsey Tison, 79, of Oakfield, GA, passed away peacefully February 14, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Stephen David Tison will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Shirley was a native of Lakeland, FL and was born on November 23, 1939 to the late Bernard and Ida Lindsey. She was raised in Early County, GA, lived in Ashburn, GA and moved to the Albany area in the 1990’s. Shirley was a mom, homemaker, skilled seamstress and a former member of the Ashburn Church of Christ.

Survivors include her children, Karen (Derrell) Souter of Sylvester, GA, Tonya Melinda Tison of Oakfield, GA, Jackie Dean (Tina) Tison of Donalsonville, GA, Timothy Dwayne Tison of Oakfield, GA and Stephen David Tison of Franklin, NC, her grandchildren, Jackie Dean Tison, Jr. of Lee County, GA, Tina Marie Tison of Donalsonville, GA, Shawn Tison of Clayton, GA, Lindsey Souter of Athens, GA, Drake Tison of Whittier, NC and Jake Souter of Sylvester, GA and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home.
