Shirley Lucille Sellers

Shirley D. Sellers, 78, of Albany, GA, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Haefs will officiate. Committal services will follow in Geneva, AL at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 2:00 PM (CST).

A native of McAllen, TX, Mrs. Sellers was born to the late Lambert W. and Hettie Skinner Dykema, Sr., and graduated from Geneva High School. She had resided in Albany, GA since 1996 moving from Vero Beach, FL and was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church. Mrs. Sellers was a homemaker and bred and raised show dogs. She produced many champions and Bassett Hounds and Dandie Dinmont Terriers were her favorites.

Survivors include two sons, Dale Allen Sellers and his wife, Pamela of Albany, GA and Daryl Lee Sellers of Riverside, CA, a daughter, Dennis Alayne Sellers of Vero Beach, FL, a brother, Lambert W. Dykema, Jr. and his wife, Clara of San Francisco, CA, three grandchildren, Trevor Sellers of Albany, GA, Ashley Sellers of Athens, GA and Lindsey Flammia and her husband, Thomas of Albany, GA and two great-grandchildren, Mollie and Nicholas Flammia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
