Faye Daughtry Raines, 76, of Albany, GA, died August 10, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albany. Dr. William D. (Biff) Coker and Dr. Joel Richardson will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson, GA.

A native of Screven County, GA, Mrs. Raines was born to the late Mills and Geneva Daughtry. She grew up in Sylvania, GA and graduated from Screven County High School in 1956 where she was a cheerleader and played on the basketball team.

Mrs. Raines started her family in Blakely, GA before moving to Dawson, GA and finally to Albany, GA in 1980. She was a sports enthusiast and golfer. She loved her family, enjoyed her plants and flowers and of course loved Georgia football. Mrs. Raines was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and was employed with Federal State Inspection Service from 1958 until her retirement in 2002.

Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Kip Adams of Newnan, GA and Julie and Keith Chandler of Albany, GA, her grandchildren, Thomas Chandler and his wife, Megan of Dawson, GA, Taylor Chandler of Athens, GA and Blake Adams and Mills Adams both of Atlanta, GA, a great-grandson, Jackson Chandler and a special caregiver, Shirley Davis.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the home of Julie and Keith Chandler, 112 Hidden Lakes Drive, Albany, GA, 31721.
