Shirley Williams Piper

Shirley Williams Piper, 61, of Patmos, GA died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Curtis Alligood will officiate. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Edison, GA.

A native of Edison, GA, Shirley was a self-employed beautician who also later worked as a cake decorator with Publix and had worked with Lowes. She was a member of TOPS 245 and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Thax Williams and her step-father Russell Lanier.

Survivors include a son, Clark Piper (Kirsten), Palm Beach Gardens, FL, a daughter, Misty Beckum (Al), Royal Palm Beach, FL, her mother, Martha Stevens Lanier, Patmos, GA, a brother, Steve Williams (Jan), Maysville, GA, two sisters, Linda Williams (David), Columbus, GA, Sandra Slappey (Tye), Leesburg, GA, two grandchildren, Laura Beckum and Layne Beckum both of Royal Palm Beach, FL.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
