Shirley Tester Hartsfield, 79, of Albany, GA passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Pruitt Health Palmyra. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Grady Morey will officiate.
Shirley was born in Pelham, GA to the late Lonnie Gregory Sr. and Emma Lucille Gregory. She was employed for over thirty years with First State Bank as a Teller and a loan processor. Shirley was of the Baptist faith and a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church.
Shirley was a very loving and caring person who always had a pretty smile on her face. She had a very big and tender heart and loved her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and her church. She enjoyed family, and was always trying to get them together for gatherings. Shirley always looked on the positive side of things no matter the circumstance. She enjoyed her First State Bank retiree luncheons with all of her friends. Shirley loved Gospel music and still had her old albums and would still want to listen to them.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Norman Tester and two brothers Bennie Gregory and Lonnie Gregory Jr. Survivors include a son Tommy Hartsfield, two daughters Cheryl Hartsfield and Debbie Hartsfield all of Albany, GA, three sisters Betty Wingate of Winder, GA, Barbara (Don) Osteen of Thomasville, GA, and Pat (Larry) Howard of Stockbridge, GA, four grandchildren Kelli Hartsfield, Christopher Highsmith, Nicole Hartsfield, and Sabrina Lynn, two great grandchildren Alaina Hartsfield and Autumn Rolland, and several nieces and nephews.
