Shirley Ann Collins Green, 74, of Lee Co., GA died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Philema Road Baptist Church. Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Thundering Springs Cemetery. Born in Moultrie, GA, Mrs. Green had resided in Lee Co., GA for the past twenty five years. She was a graduate of Moultrie Technical College, and retired from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Green was a breast cancer survivor, loved to travel, and loved animals. Above all she loved the Lord and her family and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, D. J. Collins and Lillian Weaver Collins Taylor, her husband, George Gerald Green, two sisters, Jean DeVault, Josephine Collins and a grandson, Todd Smith. Survivors include, two sons, David G. Green (Vickey), Nashville, TN, Danny Green (Veronica), Leesburg, GA, two daughters, Barbara Green Smith (Jerry), Lee Co., GA, Gwen Green Peterman (Eddie), Leesburg, GA, two brothers, Jimmy Collins (Penny), Baconton, GA, Sammy Collins (Brenda), Putney, GA, step-sister, Brenda Allen (Buddy), Moultrie, GA, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and her cat Rascal. The family is at the residence of Jerry and Barbara Smith, 820 Flowing Well Road, Albany, GA, 31763 Those desiring make memorials in memory of Shirley Ann Green to Lee County Animal Shelter, 101 Mossy Dell Rd., Leesburg, GA, 31763.
