Sharon Bangs Phillips

Sharon Bangs Phillips, 72, of Dawson, GA passed away July 31, 2022 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  A private family graveside service will be held.

Sharon was born on November 15, 1949, in Beaumont, TX to James Edgar (JE) and Marjory Bangs of the Herod Community in Terrell County, GA. Sharon attended Terrell County High School and The University of Georgia. She retired as the Lead Visual Designer for the Gayfers chain of department stores, and worked in Albany, GA. She enjoyed interior design most of all, but also loved gardening, cooking, sewing and her many animals. Goats were not her favorite due to the aforementioned love of gardening, but she tolerated them to her credit.

Survivors include her husband of twenty-four years, Ralph Phillips of Dawson, GA, her two sons, Lance (Wynita) Cannon, and Ryan (Mandy) Cannon all of Terrell County, three grandsons, Ty, JP and Spencer, two stepsons, Kevin Phillips (Todd) and Anthony Phillips (John), three siblings, Candyce Bangs, Ken (Tana) Bangs and Roger Bangs and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon made friends for life.  She will be missed greatly by those that knew and loved her.
